I stand here today alive—not merely because of medicine, but because of the grace that reached down and restored my shattered life.
When I was diagnosed with tuberculosis, my entire world imploded. It wasn't just the relentless cough or the deep physical exhaustion; it was facing the terrifying reality that my life might be cut short, compounded by the crushing shame of feeling "unclean"—like someone who had to be cast aside and isolated from society.
I was trapped in the deepest, darkest solitude. As I fought through the physical pain, a haunting question continuously echoed in my head: Who would ever dare come near someone as broken and diseased as me? I felt completely unworthy of love, unworthy of care, and unworthy of even being seen. I sank so deep into despair that I surrendered to a single thought: If I am meant to die, I will just die alone.
But in that absolute darkness, God sent a light—a true beacon of hope.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to my brave Christian brothers and sisters. They didn't care how severely I coughed. They were never disgusted to call me every single day. They weren't afraid to drop off food at my door or lift me up in prayer. They showed me what unconditional, selfless love truly looks like.
Through their relentless compassion, I was introduced to Jesus Christ. They became the bridge that connected me to God’s grace.
The day I decided to surrender all my illness, my pain, and my sins to Jesus, a profound truth washed over me: God was never disgusted by me.
While the world looked at me with fear and revulsion, God looked at me with tender mercy. He willingly laid down His life for me while I was still sick, weak, and broken. This grace moved me so deeply that I couldn't hold back my tears.
The greatest miracle wasn't an instant physical cure from tuberculosis—it was that the fear of death completely melted away from my soul. I was healed from the agony of isolation and the feeling of being worthless. I came to know that no matter how much this physical body may break down, I have God as my eternal refuge.
Today, I continue my medical treatment, but everything inside me has transformed. I have the strength to keep fighting because I am no longer fighting alone. I thank God for a grace that is infinitely greater than any disease, and I thank the team who were willing to take a risk and love someone like me—leading me to find the purest, most perfect love of my life.
